For the first time in the Island Games history, Gotland
won the Games with 37 Gold Medals, 27 Silver and 29 Bronze Medals. See the final Medal table. |

The Football Final, Ynys Môn was the winner 1-0 against
Isle of Man. In the evenening there was a lot of beer and singing. |

The County Governor of Gotland, Lillemor Arvidsson declare
the Games closed and welcomes all to Isle of Man in 2001 and to come and see Gotland
again. |

The next Games will take place in Isle of Man in 2001. |

Thorsten Palmquist, General Secretary of the Organising Committe was
greeted with flowers and presents. Thorsten is as you can see very popular among the women
from all islands. |
