rules & Regulations
1. OFFICIAL DELEGATION The official delegation shall include no more than six male and six female players, one coach for male players, one coach for female players, one manager for a male team and one manager for a female team. 2. COMPETITION 2.1 Men and women will compete in separate divisions. There will be a five person team, Baker format, competition and a singles competition for each division. There will be time for official practice, and there will be at least ten minutes of practice on the starting lanes each day. 2.2 The Baker five person team format will be conducted as follows:
2.3 There will be double round robin matches Points will be awarded on the basis of; 1 point winning the first game, 2 points winning the second game, three points winning the third game and 1 point to the the team having the highest total score (3 games). Each match won will be awarded with 1 point. 2.4 After all matches played, the three teams having the
highest point totals A tie, between two or more teams, for first or third position, will be broken as follows: Highest number of games won and, if still a tie, a single game roll of. Further ties will be broken by playing an additional 9TH and 10TH frame. The team members bowling those frames may be designated from among any of the six team members. If the match still ties there will be further 9TH and 10TH frame tie breaker, however, the same players must bowl. Teams in the stepladder will bowl three-game matches. Winner of each match is the team with the highest score. A tie in the stepladder between the team placed number 3 and the team placed number 2 in the ladder will be broken by an additional single game. Further ties will be broken by using the 9TH and 10TH frame procedure described above. A tie in the stepladder between the team placed number 1 and the team winning the first roll-off will be broken by an additional single game. If still a tie we have co-champions. 2.5 The singles competition will be conducted as follows:
2.5.1 Each game will be played on a pair of lanes. Individuals shall successively and in regular order bowl one frame on one lane, and for the next frame alternate and use the adjoining lane, so alternating each frame until five frames are bowled on each lane, completing the game. After each game played all four players shall change pair of lanes. 2.5.2 If a tie occurs for the 16th place in round
If a tie occurs for the 8th place in round two it will be broken by counting the number of strikes and if necessary spares. If a tie occurs for the 3rd place in round three it will be broken by a single game roll-off. If still a tie after the roll-off the players will replay the ninth and tenth frame until the tie is broken. 2.5.3 The stepladder roll-off will be played as follows: If player placed number 1 in the ladder looses the first game, an additional game shall be played. The winner is the player with the highest total score for the two games. If a tie after two games occurs we have co-champions. 3. TOURNAMENT MANAGEMENT3.1 Tournament manager. The host island shall select a manager for the tournament. The manager and his designated representatives shall supervise and direct the tournament. This shall include responsibility to the Technical Committee. Technical Committee. Should there be any disagreement between the host island and the Technical Committee, the decision of the Technical Committee shall be final. Pre-tournament meeting. This meeting should be chaired by the chairman of the Technical Committee. There will also be arranged a Post-competition meeting. 4. MATTERS NOT PROVIDED FOR Any matters not provided for in these rules and regulations shall be governed by WTBA playing rules and regulations, and the general rules of IGA. |
