During the week, about 1,900 islanders plus supporters, coaches, journalists and so on, from 22 islands around the world, have competed in 14 different sports. The sun has shone on us, fantastic sporting achievements have been witnessed, and we have heard lots of praise for the good organisation of the games, where everything seems to have functioned exceptionally well.

Thanks to all you who have helped in one way or another to make the 1999 NatWest island Games a great success.
